Make a Lasting Impact by Extending Your Support

Joan Giardina

Joan Giardina's gift ensures the Greater Chicago Food Depository will be able to continue providing food to those in need and work to eliminate hunger in our community for years to come.

For Joan Giardina, fighting hunger through the Greater Chicago Food Depository's planned giving program was a high priority. After all, she helped name it.

Joan served on the Food Depository's Board of Directors from 1995 – 2006. During that time, she was on the planned giving committee; which created the Will to End Hunger Society.

"Being a part of the Will to End Hunger Society means that my giving will extend after I'm gone," she says. "It ensures that the work the Food Depository does will continue for future generations."

The Society is an opportunity for donors to leave a lasting legacy by designating the Food Depository as the beneficiary of a will or trust.

Joan knows that when she's gone, her contribution will make an impact.

"Hunger is a problem that we can solve," she said. "But it won't be solved without longer-term solutions. That's what the Will to End Hunger Society helps provide."
